Davis’ work has moved away from purely painting to painting with papers. Davis uses old books in their work, the foxing of the pages provides a beautiful background with all the rich tones of cream to deep nut brown. Davis has a love for text- however they sand it away sometimes, treating the mixed media pieces like acrylic paintings, adding layers, and pulling back- Davis’ love of colour comes through with hits of neon and at the moment they’re drawn to hot pink-oranges. Davis paints up papers and uses them as a palette- Davis describes the practise of their abstract pieces as “painting with paper”.
