The subject of this work is the protection of children during WWII by sending them to the countryside, the operation named Pied Piper. My Nan grew up on a rural farm in Gloucestershire and had some of these young visitors. I think there is a parallel that can be drawn with those seeking similar protection today, families being separated and not faring as well/having the luxury of idyllic countryside havens (not that every experience would have been so!).
